Nineties dance icon Janice Robinson was spotted by shoppers enjoying a trip to the Metrocentre earlier this week.

Best known for her platinum-selling global number one hit ‘Dreamer’ with Livin’ Joy kept a low profile as she donned a straw hat, sunglasses and wrapped up for the weather in a leather jacket and scarf in an video posted to her Instagram story.

Fans thought they were dreaming when they spotted Robinson walking the malls.

She also gave some advice to budding artists and writers at the Metrocentre.

Talking to the camera, Janice, who is currently touring with the Ministry Of Sound Classical across the UK, said: “Hi everybody, it’s Janice Robinson. Let me give you a tip, write from your heart. Write words, write lyrics that come from your heart.

“Always write your truth and that truth goes on and transcends people’s lives. You’re welcome.”

Janice and her producer Dan Thomas teased that some music collaborations are in the works with Dan saying: “We are cooking up some stuff! Watch out!” 

The pair are teaming up to work on Robinson’s upcoming dance album.

A further clip revealed the pair were off for ice cream, with Janice playfully adding: “Get your producer to buy you ice cream!”

Throughout her career, Janice has toured as the opening singer for Snap!, toured with New Kids On The Block, sung for Oprah Winfrey and even opened up for the late Tina Turner on the US leg of her farewell tour alongside Lionel Richie in 2000.

Janice is also currently working on a documentary about her life story, from her rise to fame, having a number one hit record, touring the world, taking a long hiatus to care for her sick parents and raise her two daughters, to her comeback.  

Robinson recently released ‘Just A Little Love’ with London based record label OMG Collective, which is out now, alongside remixes. She will also perform at London’s Royal Albert Hall with Ministry Of Sound on 16th September, tickets on sale now.
