Spennymoor went top of the ENL tonight with a 2-0 over Dunston UTS.
The goal came in the opening minutes when former Dunston centre half Micky Laws headed in from a corner, and a few minutes later Lewis Dodds hit the bar.
Andy Johnson also hit the post when he was clean through just before half time.
Liam Henderson missed a good chance midway through the second half, but he got the second goal right at the end when he intercepted a poor pass by Dunston’s Luke Gilhespy and slotted the ball home.
Shildon came from behind to beat Marske 2-1 and go above Celtic Nation into second.
Marske gave as good as they got in the first half and went close on a couple of occasions, and they stunned Shildon by taking the lead a few minutes after half time when Josh MacDonald was brought down, and Lev Yalcin scored from the spot.
Shildon levelled on 63 minutes when Darren Craddock beat Robbie Deane with a header from a Jamie Harwood right wing corner, and five minutes later Harwood volleyed the winner from a Chris Emms free kick.
In the other game , West Auckland drew 0-0 at Newcastle Benfield.
