Darlington will travel to Spennymoor Town in the first round of the Durham Challenge Cup on Tuesday, October 21.

Should either club be required to play an FA Trophy replay, then the DCC match will be rescheduled for Tuesday, October 28, with Quakers' match at Farsley postponed.

The sides have already met at the Brewery Field this season, Quakers winning 2-0 in the second Evo-Stik League First Division fixture of the season, though the cup game will different personnel take to the field.

With league very much the priority for both clubs, each side can be expected to make changes with Darlington likely to utilise some of the youth team players that are on the fringes of the senior side.

Last night’s draw at Radcliffe Borough saw Quakers give a first league start of the season to teenage midfielder Adam Cocks and name three youngsters on the bench: Tom Young, Matthew Pennal and Matty Lovegreen.

“I’d like to have got them on and given them some game time, but it wasn’t really possible because we were chasing the game,” said assistant manager Brian Atkinson, who was in charge for the evening as Martin Gray could not attend due to work commitments.

On Monday the youth team defeated Gateshead 3-0 in the FA Youth Cup.

The Durham CC tie with Spennymoor must be played by Saturday, November 1.

The clubs have met four times since Quakers dropped into the Northern League at the beginning 2012-13, Darlington winning twice, one being a 0-0 draw while Moors won a Northern League Cup 2-0 at Heritage Park in November 2012.
